Hello, a month ago I upgraded my computer to windows 11 and I decided to update the motherboard bios in order to play valorant (the game supposedly doesn't run without a bios update) I picked the latest beta version of my motherboard model from the MSI's website (I had to use a beta since the latest non beta bios is already quite old), the update went ok, I can acess windows 11 and the game works without any issue but I can't access the bios anymore, when I turn on the computer the screen stays black until windows 11 boots, no bios POST, no start up screen, nothing.
if I press the key required to enter the bios the screen goes to black and stays black without booting to windows suggesting that it's actually entering the bios/boot menu but It's not displaying it through the right output, I've tried reseting the bios and different video outputs and I still can't acess it, my best guess is that my bios thinks I've got integrated graphics and it's trying to display the bios through my motherboard outputs, unfortunately I don't have integrated graphics so I don't know how what to do.... do you guys have any suggestions?
my specs:
motherboard:msi b450m bazooka v2.
CPU: amd ryzen 5 2600x.
16gb of ddr4 ram running at 2666mhz.
700W EVGA power supply.

I'm guessing with the right combination of keys I might be able to disable the integrated graphics setting on the bios but I haven't been able to do that yet

After updating BIOS for Windows 11 compatibility, encountering black screen issues when accessing BIOS. Suspect BIOS outputting through integrated graphics. Solutions may include checking BIOS settings or consulting manufacturer support for guidance.

Go to MSI official website , search your motherboard and download the latest BIOS. The matching result for “MPG Z390M GAMING EDG AC” will show up, select [Download] to enter download section. Find the required BIOS file, and click on the arrow pointing down icon to download.

If your PC boots but you never see the BIOS screen, I'd start with the basics before assuming the motherboard is faulty. Make sure you're pressing Delete repeatedly as soon as you power on, try a different keyboard (preferably a wired USB one), and reset the CMOS by removing the battery for a few minutes. If you're using a dedicated graphics card, connect the monitor to that instead of the motherboard's video output. MSI also recommends checking for Fast Boot settings and clearing CMOS if BIOS access is blocked.

Since Windows still boots normally, it doesn't sound like the BIOS update itself failed. Your theory about the video output could be right. I've seen cases where a beta BIOS changed the display initialization from PCIe to another option, making the BIOS screen invisible while Windows loaded through the GPU driver later. If you haven't already, try booting with only one monitor connected, use a different cable type if possible (HDMI instead of DisplayPort or vice versa), and check whether MSI offers a newer stable BIOS that addresses display initialization issues. If the system enters BIOS but you only get a black screen, it definitely sounds more like an output compatibility problem than a corrupted BIOS.

Since Windows 11 is loading normally, the BIOS may still be working even though the display is not appearing during POST. Try connecting the monitor through a different GPU port, such as HDMI instead of DisplayPort, and temporarily disable Fast Boot if possible. You can also reset CMOS, check the monitor input manually, or reflash the BIOS with a stable non-beta version using MSI's supported update method. If the system enters BIOS but shows a black screen, testing with another monitor or graphics card can help identify a display compatibility issue. Hi,
Troubleshooting an MSI motherboard that won’t display BIOS can be frustrating, especially when the system shows no clear error. Checking the RAM, display connections, and diagnostic https://thecursivefont.com/ lights is a useful starting point. Clear technical guides with well-designed headings can make troubleshooting easier to follow, particularly when presenting detailed steps online.
